Oftentimes, it’s difficult to remember that you are learning just as much as the person you are tutoring. This module focuses on you, the tutor, and what you need to bring to the tutoring experience. You will meet ESLSAP tutors and learners who will talk about their own experiences, challenges, and learning.
In Module 1, you will:
discover the qualities of a successful and effective tutor
learn what a tutor does
determine what makes for a successful learning experience
understand how the tutor is a link to the community
know the concepts of learner-centered tutoring and prior learning
