Module 6: Living Inquiries – Identities, Social Responsibility, and Diversity

Introduction

Welcome to Module 6: Living Inquiries - Identities, Social Responsibility, and Diversity.

Modules 3-6 explore four living inquiries, and the pathways provided by the Early Learning Framework. If you haven’t learned about living inquiries, or want a refresher, visit Module 3.

The four living inquiries are

  • Well-being and belonging
  • Engagement with others, materials, and the world
  • Communication and literacies
  • Identities, social responsibility, and diversity

In this module, you will explore the living inquiry of identities, social responsibility, and diversity.

You will also review pathways related to the inquiry, and mini-case studies that demonstrate how these pathways have been included in an educator’s practice with children from birth to age eight.

For each of the pathways, critically reflective questions help you think about how you may include the inquiry into your own professional practice, whether that be in your home, a child care setting, or classroom setting.
