Frequently Asked Questions for Administrators

Q: What can I do to help increase the number of French-speaking staff in our school/district?

Finding enough French-speaking staff can be challenging for many schools in BC. Some strategies to increase and retain French-speaking staff include:

  • Make connections with pre-service teachers and education assistants at post-secondary institutions.
  • Welcome French-speaking student teachers to your school.
  • Provide mentorship programs to support new educators to the school district.
  • Support professional development opportunities specifically designed for French educators.
