Accommodating Cultural Diversity

As part of her program, Sandy includes family reading time where children choose a book and have their caregiver read it to them. Sandy has many Chinese-speaking grandparents in her program. She noticed one grandmother not reading to her grandchild. Instead of following her first instinct, which was to ask the grandmother to read to her grandchild, Sandy decided to think about what she could do to encourage the grandmother to read.
