“I have a plan but I’m ready to let go of that plan everyday as the families come in through the door… it’s the families and children that really dictate flow of the day--what they need that day and what they’re learning that day.”

“We all sat down, sang some songs and I started: ‘I want to tell you a story today about a group of children that put their coats on and walked down the road. And where were we going?’ The children answered ‘the fire hall!’ From there, the children started engaging and telling the story with me.”

“Our boys have been going to the Grenfell StrongStart program since 2010. Linda is a great facilitator; she is very dedicated in helping the young children learn skills that they will use in the future. She teaches the kids about manners, sharing, reading—and one of the most important lessons for me—is talking about your feelings. Linda puts great emphasis on this topic because it really helps the children work through their own problems and come up with solutions. Talking out the issue by acknowledging their feelings is such a great life skill that the kids will always carry with them.”
