Rethinking learning and practice is the central vision to the Early Learning Framework. The framework shows you ways to form new ideas about learning, and about your professional practice with children from birth to age eight. Pedagogical narration is one of the processes that can help you to do so. Pedagogical narration works along with the following practices:
Listening to all the ways that children express themselves.
Thinking carefully about our beliefs and how these beliefs shape our sense of self and other. These beliefs affect how we view the world.
Asking for comments, questions, and ideas from children, families, colleagues, and community members. These help us to look at many different viewpoints.
Let’s explore these pedagogies and practices more closely. As you read the rest of this module, think about how these elements work together and how you can use them in your practice.
