Make Pedagogical Choices
What are pedagogical choices? The things you choose to do with children, with the environment, materials, traditions, and routines. The Early Learning Framework encourages you to examine
- Why you make certain choices
- How you can be attentive and intentional in the choices you make
Through your pedagogical narrations, you can think about why you make choices. You can experiment with ideas. You may then continue to record, reflect, and discuss. You may make new pedagogical choices.
You and the children in your early learning or classroom setting can invent new ideas. You can try different materials or processes. You can be open to other possibilities.
In this way, pedagogical narration can support emergent curriculum.

What is emergent curriculum? Emergent curriculum is a philosophy and an approach to teaching and learning. This can also be used to plan curriculum. Meaningful learning experiences are child-led and based on their interests. It includes active participation, relationship building, inquiry, and play-based learning.
